Who can sign up to SureSitter?

If you are looking for a babysitting, childminding, nanny or au-pair job in Ireland and are aged over 18 then we’d love you to join our SureSitter community.

How do I sign up?

Signing up is really simple.  Click on this linkYou will then receive an email asking you to confirm your account. You must confirm your account before your profile will be live on SureSitter.

You can now login to your dashboard and complete your profile. Completing your profile is really important. This is a parent’s first impression of you so try and provide as much detail as possible.

Should I complete the ID-check?

The simple answer is yes! We are raising the safety standards by verifying that you are who you say you are. It’s a very simple process and only takes 2 minutes. You can verify your identity using a passport or drivers licence in the My Profile section of your dashboard.

Sitters who complete the check will be highlighted to parents and will appear higher in search results, meaning more job opportunities for you.

Once you complete the check your profile will have the following badge

ID-verified

Are there any age restrictions?

You must be over 18 to join SureSitter.

How much will it cost me?

Nothing! There is no charge to join SureSitter. Once your profile is complete you will be able to connect with families in your area and receive job offers.

How do I get paid?

Parents will pay you directly and you keep all the money you earn, we do not take a percentage.

SureSitter does not set the rate that you are paid.  The carer and parent agree this between themselves and we also recommend that how and when payments are made are agreed at this stage too.

What information will parents see about me?

Parents will see your first name, profile picture and your bio. They will also see any social connections you have in common and any reviews that have been left by other parents that you have worked for.

How do I get a job on SureSitter?

When parents publish their jobs they are posted on to the Jobs Board.  Carers can search there for jobs in their area that will suit their availability and experience.  If you see a job that you are interested you can select it in the Jobs Board and the parent will see your interest!

Parents can also search through sitter profiles and invite sitters that look suitable.  If you are invited by a parent you will receive an email that will link you directly to the job.

How will I get notified of job requests?

You will receive notification by email. You can then go to your dashboard to see details of the job and parents before deciding to express interest or reject the job.

What if I am no longer looking for a childminding job?

All you have to do is un-publish your profile.  This means you won’t be matched with jobs or show in parent’s searches.  If you are looking for job again at a later stage then it’s easy to go back into your account and publish your profile again.

If you wish to permanently close your account please email us at support@suresitter.com and we will close your account.

What should I think about when meeting a parent for the first time?

You should consider meeting in a public place for the first time – for both yours and the parents safety.

Be able to provide references from previous jobs and contact details for referees.

Talk through the parents’ requirements and expectations to make sure you are both on the same page.  It’s better to talk through exactly what both sides expect at the beginning so that you don’t run into issues at a later stage.

Where does SureSitter operate?

We operate nationwide throughout Ireland.
