I am currently in my 4th year of College studying Early childhood education, along with my course I’m also a lifeguard, swimming teacher and aqua aerobics instructor and worked in a gym for 3 years I have been a childminder for over 6 years now and have experience with all age groups as well as children with additional needs. I currently work in a playschool, here I responsible for the education and care of each child with ages varying from one to 6th class in primary school. During my time working in the pool I was the swim program coordinator for swimming lessons, in these lessons there is a wide range of ages and abilities. I teach both in the water and on the poolside and strive to deliver lessons in a safe but fun manner. I also volunteer at my local therapeutic yard. I have been a leader at this yard for 4 years, I help the instructors with group lessons and treks that are offered to children and adults of all ages. I have also worked specifically with children who have disabilities. I help with the care of the horses; grooming, feeding and general yard management. I have always enjoyed working with kids as I’m really interested in the ways they interpret the world and how they learn new skills. I have an array of activities keep them entertained whether it be baking with them, using arts and crafts or simply just playing one of their games with them. I like the children to enjoy the time they have with me but I also ensure whatever task I am completing with them is safe. Finally I am a fully qualified lifeguard, this includes First Aid, CPR and AED. I am also a Qualified Rookie Lifeguard this includes First Aid and CPR. And I have a First aid qualification with the Order of Malta as well along with a level 2 swimming teacher qualification and aqua aerobics qualification, and Designated liaison person certification.
