Hi! I'm Amy, a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic childcare professional based in Co. Kerry. I hold QQI Level 5 and Level 6 qualifications in Early Childhood Care and Education, a Level 6 Special Needs Assisting qualification, and I'm currently studying for a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy with the goal of becoming a play therapist. I have several years of experience working with children of different ages in both childcare settings and through private babysitting. I am First Aid trained, Garda Vetted, and passionate about creating a safe, nurturing, and fun environment where children feel happy, valued, and supported. I love planning age-appropriate activities, arts and crafts, outdoor play, reading stories, and helping children learn through play. I'm also happy to help with light household tasks, meal preparation, bedtime routines, and keeping the home tidy while caring for your little ones.

Child Minding Qualifications

I hold QQI Level 5 and Level 6 qualifications in Early Childhood Care and Education, a QQI Level 6 Special Needs Assisting qualification, and I am currently studying for a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy with the goal of becoming a Play Therapist. I am also Garda Vetted, have completed Children First training, and hold a valid First Aid certificate. My education has given me a strong understanding of child development, safeguarding, inclusive practice, and creating safe, nurturing environments where children can thrive.

Through my childcare experience, I have also been trained in maintaining children's health and safety, recognising potential risks, and following appropriate procedures to ensure every child remains safe and well cared for.

Yes, I have experience supporting children with additional needs and I hold a QQI Level 6 qualification in Special Needs Assisting. Throughout my childcare experience, I have worked with children who require additional support and understand the importance of patience, communication, consistency, and adapting activities to suit each child's individual needs. I am committed to creating an inclusive, positive environment where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Experience with Children Under 2 Years

Yes, I have experience caring for babies both in professional childcare settings and through private babysitting. I am confident with feeding, changing nappies, preparing bottles, settling babies for naps, supporting developmental play, and following each family's individual routines. I understand the importance of providing a calm, loving, and responsive environment where babies feel safe, secure, and cared for.
