Chloe H.

My name is Chloe and I’m 19 years old. In 2019 I done a PLC course in Enniscorthy Vocational Collage where I studied Community Care and Social Studies QQI Level 5. This was a one year course which is aimed at people who want to work as a Special Needs Assistant in a primary school or to work in Social Care. I also done work experience twice a week in my local primary school there I worked with Junior and Senior Infants and 1st and 2nd class. I studied nine modules during this course. I also got the choice to sub in the school which I took as I thought It would be a brilliant opportunity for me. As I worked in the school I had the opportunity to interact with all the children. It was the most rewarding job as I got to watch some of the shy children blossom. Every child is different and the part that I love about this work experience was that I got to help each one discover his/her own strengths, talents and nurture those traits through my educational approach. I really Enjoy working with children because I feel like I’m making a difference in their lives, I want to Instill that feeling of excitement and challenge them to explore their environment. In secondary school I got picked to be a Meithleader for my school. This is a peer mentoring programme which involves senior students being trained to work with First Years students to help them settle into secondary school. I am Garda Vetted and I done a First Aid course.
