About Me

Hi, I’m Lucy! I’m a friendly, caring and enthusiastic childcare professional based in the Dún Laoghaire area. I’ve always had a genuine love for working with children and find it so rewarding being part of their everyday lives, watching them grow, learn and develop their own little personalities. I have experience working with children of different ages, from babies as young as 6 months right through to toddlers and preschool-aged children. I’ve worked in both baby rooms and Montessori settings, as well as with older children, so I’m comfortable adapting to different ages, routines and individual needs. Throughout my childcare experience, I’ve gained confidence in all aspects of day-to-day childcare, including preparing bottles and meals, nappy changing, supporting toilet training, organising activities, helping with sleep routines, settling children into new environments and keeping little ones happy, safe and entertained throughout the day. I particularly enjoy getting involved in activities that encourage children’s creativity, imagination and development. Whether that’s arts and crafts, reading stories, singing songs, playing games, exploring outdoors, going for walks or simply getting down on the floor and joining in with their favourite toys, I love making everyday moments fun and meaningful for children. I believe every child is different and has their own little personality, interests and way of learning. I think it’s really important to take the time to get to know each child individually, build a trusting relationship with them and create an environment where they feel comfortable, happy, secure and encouraged to be themselves. I’m a patient, attentive and reliable person, and I understand how important it is for parents to feel completely comfortable and confident leaving their children in someone else’s care. I would always aim to build a lovely relationship not only with the children but with their families too, keeping parents updated and making sure we’re working together to provide the best possible care. I hold a QQI Level 5 qualification in Early Learning and Care and have completed training in Children First, First Aid, Fire Safety and Manual Handling. Outside of childcare, I’m a very easygoing, bubbly and down-to-earth person. I love being creative, spending time outdoors and making the most of the little things. I would describe myself as someone who is approachable, responsible, caring and always happy to get involved. I’m now looking forward to the opportunity to work closely with a family, become a familiar and trusted person in their children’s lives and provide a loving, fun and supportive environment where they can feel happy, safe and cared for. I would absolutely love the opportunity to become part of a lovely family’s routine and make a positive difference in their little ones’ everyday lives!
