Special Needs Experience
I volunteered in a special educational needs school for around a year and a half as a teacher's assistant. I focused on teaching my students - who were boys aged 10-12 - computing skills, but also life skills such as communication and emotional regulation. I loved getting to know the students, and having small talk with them about their weekend plans at the start of lessons was one of my favourite parts of the position, as I saw them becoming more articulate, confident and comfortable in the school environment.
