Special Needs Experience
Back in Milan I started looking after Masha an energetic, positive, sweet, and sensitive girl who loves music, dancing, and socialising. She was born with microcephaly, which causes her intellectual disabilities, hyperactivity, and difficulties with coordination and balance. I used to see her from two to tree times a week and help her with different tasks: from homework to navigating the city, helping her become familiar with using buses and public transport, grocery shopping, handling money, and becoming more independent in her daily life. We also enjoyed many creative activities together, such as visiting museums, cooking, drawing, singing, and, once she turned 18, going dancing—something she truly loved. We spent together 5 years and grow a beautiful friendship that remains strong and, as we both shared and learned so much from each other.
