I started babysitting at 15 and have cared for children of different ages ever since. In Brazil, I’ve also been working as a primary school teacher since I was 18, right after finishing high school. I teach literacy and art, inspired by the Waldorf education approach, which emphasizes creativity, emotional development, and a deep respect for each child’s individuality.
During my time teaching, I had the chance to work with two amazing kids, both English speakers and on the autism spectrum. They were absolutely lovely and taught me so much. That experience helped me grow both as a person and as a future certified teacher. It really showed me the importance of patience, empathy, and adapting to each child’s unique way of learning.
I went to São Paulo during the pandemic to take care of a 1-year-old baby, and I stayed with her for almost two years. I was with her every day, helping with her routine, playing, and just being part of her early years. It was such a special experience and really made me love working with little kids even more.
