I am very proficient in First Aid. A requirement of working for CHI includes the responsibility of refreshing adult and paediatric basic life support and first aid training biannually. I also grew up completing all my water safety courses and included in that was first aid.
I have lots of experience working with children with special needs. As an occupational therapist we work with individuals who have difficulty in function, whether it be from a physical or cognitive need. I have worked with a range of children with varying disabilities including; traumatic brain injuries, cerebral palsy, ASD and spina bifida. I have also volunteered in summer camps for many years with an organisation called “CoAction” who provide supports and services to children with intellectual disabilities.
Working in Temple Street I see children across the life span ranging from birth to 16 years. I have worked within the neonates department and am very comfortable in caring for babies.
