About Me

My name is Rachel. I am 24 years old and from the small city Vancouver in Washington State, USA. I am a dedicated and detail-oriented individual with a strong passion for working with children and a keen focus on safety. With an extensive background caring for children, from newborns to toddlers,—coupled with my fun-loving, warm, and caring personality—I am confident that I can provide excellent childcare to your family while simultaneously gaining a keen understanding of the Irish culture and day-to-day life. For the past five years, I have served as a nanny to numerous families—for which I am happy to provide references—including children from infancy through 3 years of age. From preparing meals and changing diapers to performing household cleaning tasks and accompanying children to various activities and events. I also engaged with the children through play, assisted with child development, and collaborated closely with parents to ensure their needs were met. I would describe myself as a reliable and caring person, who tries to make the best out of every situation. I like spending time with my friends; they are – as well as my family – very important to me. I love traveling, learning about different cultures, meeting new people, and making memories. My very calm, collected, patient, and quick learning always comes in handy when dealing with challenging situations. In my free time, I like to listen to music, go shopping or try new restaurents. Photography and hiking are two of my favorite hobbies. Although, I do enjoy staying in and reading a good book. With an enduring passion for fostering cultural exchanges and nurturing childcare, I am eager to embrace the opportunity to join a family with a heartfelt commitment to child development and global understanding. I hold a CPR/ First-Aid Certification from the American Red Cross, along with exceptional communication and organizational skills. Furthermore, I am responsible and reliable, with a proven commitment to providing high-quality physical and emotional care for children while encouraging their social and educational development. The reason why I want to go to Ireland as an au pair is that I want to get to know the Irish way of life as well as different cultures. Most importantly, it would be a great chance to spend an entire year taking care of children. I hope we can develop a good relationship, working and living together as a family. I am looking forward to discussing how my background, skills, and interests align with the needs of your family and would greatly appreciate the opportunity to explore this in more detail during an interview. I would be very happy to experience an eventful year with you and your kids. Thank you very much, and I look forward to speaking with you soon. Yours sincerely, Rachel
