I obtained my BAFA certification this summer. In France, the BAFA (Brevet d'Aptitude aux Fonctions d'Animateur - Certificate of aptitude for the functions of animators) is a diploma that certifies the qualifications of activity leaders. It allows you to supervise groups of children in holiday camps, leisure centers, or any activities designed for children.
I have the PSC1, which is a first aid aptitude diploma. As part of my BAFA I also have training in the role of Health Assistant.
As part of my daycare, I had to work with children who had ADHD, so I had to manage crises but also find ways to help these children do their homework, for example.
As part of my babysitting assignments, I had the opportunity to work with a 1-year-old baby. My duties consisted of picking him up from daycare, feeding him, washing him if necessary, changing his diaper, playing with him and putting him to sleep.
