About Me

My full name is Naomi Judith Engelbrecht. I was born on the 25th of August 2001 at Pretoria East Hospital in Pretoria, South Africa. I am twenty two years old I was home-schooled from start to finish and both my parents worked from home. I come from a large, blended family – I have two older sisters, two older brothers and two younger sisters and I have one sister in law and one brother in law. I am very lucky to be the aunty of one beautiful niece and one handsome nephew. My mother is a midwife and so I grew up surrounded by children of all ages. I am a daughter, a younger sister and an older sister. I am an aunty to one beautiful niece and one handsome nephew. I love to laugh. I love talking to people and learning from their experiences. I like to ask questions in the hope of learning more about life. I love writing notes and drawing pictures for my friends and family, often leaving them in their wallets or bags for them to discover. I believe that when you love someone that should be expressed as often as possible. When I was three years old, I heard Antonio Vivaldi’s A minor concerto and fell in love. After begging my parents, I eventually got my first violin at four and a half. I still play violin (not as much as I should) but there’s this moment when you connect with the right rhythm and tune and you can feel the strings vibrate inside you and it makes the world better. I can swim and ride a bicycle. I have an International drivers licence and a South African Drivers licence. I started studying Law remotely in South Africa while working as a Paralegal. I did five years of ‘corporate’ paralegal work. Due to the cost of living and increasing crime rate I decided to start looking for a better quality of life. I am currently in Ireland visiting my brother where I am hoping to find my next au-pair position. Please send me a message and I would be more than happy to send you a personal essay with some more information about myself and the people around me. I am also able to provide child care references. I hope to hear from you

Experience with Children Under 2 Years

I’ve loved babies and children for as long as I can remember. My mother trained first as a doula and then as a midwife. I grew up surrounded by babies and children of all ages. As I got older, I started to babysit the children my mom had delivered, helping moms after they’d given birth by watching their toddlers. I travelled with families on their holidays to help with watching their baby/toddler during the day and to help with night shifts. Because of my Mom’s expertise on anything pregnancy, birth, or child related, I grew up with a wealth of knowledge. Being home-schooled only made this easier. Mothers would come over for tea with their new born babies and toddlers and we would constantly be learning about taking care of children. We were also able to babysit during school hours, which made us available and flexible for parents. I au-paired for a family in Cyprus for just under three months. During my time there I shared a room with their two-year-old toddler. I attended to night feedings, night changes and then during the day made breakfast, drove the child to day care and was responsible for vacuuming, mopping, laundry, everyday household cleaning and cooking. I have spent many hours with children and absolutely adore spending time with them.
