Child Minding Qualifications
At the age of 15. I started to seriously get involved with babysitting the children in my neighborhood. I had also started to volunteer with my local childhood cancer nonprofit, at their summer camp and after school program. That then led to me helping with their fundraisers too. As the kids I still babysit for grew older, we would just spend time playing outside in the evenings after school. I then got a job working at the children’s hospital in a playroom where I watched siblings of kids who had an appointment. It was a free service to families and was partnered with the local Ronald McDonald house in Richmond. The age range I watched was 3/16 years old. The goal was not only to watch the children for the parents but to give these children attention, while their parent cares for the child with an appointment or that is in the hospital.
