Dear host family, thank you for taking the time to read my letter. My name is Theresa and I am 18 years old. Currently I am living with a host family close to Roscrea Co. Tipperary. We have a good relationship, but since my host mother is reducing her working hours, unfortunately they are not in need for an aupair anymore. It is fair to say that especially my host girl (8 years) and I are very close with each other. We enjoy our time doing arts and crafts, sing-dance battles, playing, talking, feeding the rabbits and also doing homework together. Before I came to Ireland, I already gathered a lot of experiences with children. I taught the recorder to 7-8 year olds and tutored Maths to 10-12 year olds. Furthermore, as part of our local youth group, we organised different activities for children, including treasure hunts, carnivals for kids or our unique kids adventcalender. My internships at the speech therapist and the elementary school also helped me to find out that I really like working with children. I would describe myself as sociable, creative and reliable. I love getting to know other people and taking responsibility by helping them out. When dealing with children, my primary wish is to guarantee a safe and open atmosphere. My host child is feeling comfortable around me, in her eyes I am her big sister. I enjoy that I became kind of a part of my current host family and I would wish for the same with you. As long as we interact respectfully and honest with each other, which I know we will, there is nothing standing in the way of our happiness. ;) Last but not least, I am familiar with baking, cooking and other chores like ironing or doing the laundry. If driving to do grocerie shopping is also part of household chores, then that is the activity I enjoy the most.
