Hi! I am currently studying for a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology in UCC. I am looking for work as I have a lot of free time this year. The reason that I am looking for work minding children is because when I am looking after children, I love it so much that it doesn't feel like work. This doesn't mean that I don't consider childminding work, or think that it is easy work, I know that it can often challenging, but I find it really enjoyable and rewarding. I have a strong work ethic and I consider myself to be a very reliable and honest person who values respect and integrity above all else. I am passionate about education as I am a natural leader, and I think that it is really important to discover how different people/children learn, and above all, learning can be made fun. Everything in life is a learning experience after all. My father and granny were both childminders (Dad still is) so while I was growing up I was immersed in childminding. Before I was doing it myself I was spending my time making arts and crafts or playing with the children at home. My own experience has been with different children throughout the years, babysitting throughout adolescence, minding my cousin's two girls (2 and 5) during the summer while she was at work, other friend's children, and most recently, my godson, Riley and his brother, Caelum. Riley (3) and Caelum (6) are my favourite boys in the world, and I enjoy doing puzzles with them, reading and bringing them to the local hurling pitch to play football together. For the first year of Riley's life his father was in hospital so I was very involved with their childcare. I am quite a musical person, I love to sing, traditional Irish music in particular. I am currently learning to play the guitar so I can sing in a more socially acceptable way! I also enjoy dancing, although it is purely around the house and in no way professional! I have also taken up knitting again and I am hoping to move on from gloves to hats and leg warmers in time for next winter. I was quite a fussy eater growing up and in the past few years I have started to become passionate about food, and I am really enjoying cooking and perfecting meals with my boyfriend, although it's just for me now with the lockdown restrictions! I really hope that you think we would make a good match and we can get to know more about eachother in the near future. Annie X
