We are a busy working family living in Glanmire with two wonderful children: Robyn (14) and Freddie (8). Freddie has autism and is non-verbal; he is a very affectionate, cuddly, and easy-going boy. Robyn is very knowledgeable about her brother’s needs and is a great help, but we need an adult present to manage the routine and school runs.
The Role:
We are looking for a dependable person to help us bridge the gap between school and our return from work.
School Runs: Collecting/dropping Freddie from Cara in Mayfield (5 minutes from our home). Full license and own car are essential.
Hours: Typical afternoons from approx. 2:30 PM to 5:30/6:00 PM.
Flexibility: We would love someone who can offer extra hours during Mid-term breaks. As one parent works nights, we need a few hours of quiet/coverage in the mornings/afternoons to allow for sleep between shifts.
The Vibe: We need someone patient who enjoys a "cuddly" and loving environment. No complex medical needs, just a safe pair of hands and a warm heart.
Requirements:
Experience with ASD (Autism) or Special Educational Needs is a significant advantage.
Full clean driving license and reliable car.
Garda Vetting (or willingness to obtain it).
Kind, patient, and punctual.
What we offer:
A friendly, welcoming home environment.
Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
Consistency and a long-term role for the right fit.
If you think you’d be a good match for Freddie and our family, please get in touch with a bit about your experience and your availability. We look forward to hearing from you!
