About Me

Education: I have completed two PLC courses in 2018 and 2019. Early Childhood Care and Education level 5 and Advanced Disability Studies which allows me to become an Special Needs Assistant (SNA). I am currently choosing to go down the path of Nursing in September to expand my Education. I found these courses so interesting as I knew I always wanted to care for children at such a young age. Experience with Children: I have worked in a Creche called Cahereen Heights Child Care Facility. Where I did the following • Supervising Children always. E.g. at the playground, naptime, lunches • Read up to date with all the policies and procedures • Napping changing • Handing the Children’s lunches and slicing snacks due to precaution • Reading stories and sharing important daily life skills during circle time I also worked in Crag Caves dressing up as an ELF giving the Children the christmas Spirit they Deserved. I also have babysat my cousins through the years when they were younger which taught me a lot about what it takes to work with children. I have also done Work Experience, In a Primary School called Mhuire Gan Smal. Where i worked with children with disabilities such as Autism and ADHD. I helped these children by: • Guiding the children with their reading and writing skills • Scaffold the children as they did their daily tasks • Read phonics to the children to improve in their speech and language Why I love working with children: I honestly love working with children because it does not feel like a job for me. I am a very caring, energetic, hard working person as I feel these qualities are essential when working with children. I love working with children as I feel you couldn't have a more rewarding job when you see that smile on a child's face knowing you made that happen after play games or teaching them a lesson etc. Something personal about me: During my free time I love to get out to exercise to keep my body healthy. I have hobbies such horse riding, reading, personal fitness, swimming and of course bench watching favourite movies.

My Experience

Child Minding Qualifications

I have completed two PLC courses in 2018 and 2019. Early Childhood Care and Education level 5 and Advanced Disability Studies which allows me to become an Special Needs Assistant (SNA). I have also babysat my little cousins through the years that allowed me to learn how to cook, change nappies, feed and nap times.

First Aid Experience

Yes, I have completed a first aid course. where I learned how to stop a person from choking and what to do if a person get a heart attack.

Special Needs Experience

Yes I have done work experience for several months In a Primary School called Mhuire Gan Smal. Where i worked with children with disabilities such as Autism and ADHD. I helped these children by Guiding the children with their reading and writing skills, Scaffold the children as they did their daily tasks, Reading phonics to the children to improve in their speech and language. I sat down with the children at their level interacting with them at a easy pace for them to follow as it can be difficult. As it is very important to have patiences with children to allow them to learn in a healthy, easy, fun enviroment.

Experience with Children Under 2 Years

Yes, I have worked with babies and children at a young age. I have worked in a Creche called Cahereen Heights Child Care Facility. Where I did the following: Supervising Children always. E.g. at the playground, naptime, lunches (to chop foods in half lengthways such as grapes to prevent them from choking) Read up to date with all the policies and procedures, Napping changing them every 2 to 2 half hours, Handing the Children’s lunches and slicing snacks due to precaution, Reading stories and sharing important daily life skills during circle time. when interacting with babies, it is very important to put on funny voices and using toys to interact with them as they take in a lot more when things are loud and happy. When feedings babies its vital that the food is soft mushy and if the food is hot for to allow it to cool down. also allow the child to use bids as they can be very messy and to have wipes close.
