Level 8 in Childcare: degree in Primary Education

First Aid Experience

Completed First Aid Responder in February 2020. In my previous experience I helped children through minor accidents in creches such as small finger cuts, bruises. I comforted children and followed with the accident and incident policy of the crèche, notifying management and child’s parents when appropriate, filling in the accident form for management and parents to sign.

Special Needs Experience

I had in the past I had children whose progress was slow/delayed in comparison with other children of the same age. I made observations every month and reported to parents to ensure early intervention could help children who need some support (a non verbal child, a Down Syndrome child without an Aim worker in the room). I changed room, materials, my approach to support the special needs child to the best of my abilities.

Experience with Children Under 2 Years

Yes, I have years of experience working in creches including caring for infants. From preparing and serving food and snacks and changing nappies to designing fun activities and games. Additionally, I have experience helping young children through separation anxiety situations, using distraction and refocusing techniques to help them through those tough moments.
