Hi, My name is Alma, I am 32 years young and I have been an Early Years Educator for 14 years. I started my journey caring for children when I was just 12 years old, babysitting for families in my local area. During this time I realised caring for children was something I wanted to pursue, once I had graduated school. Caring for children has always been and always will be a passion of mine. I have worked in both private and community run creches for many years. First as a Room Leader, and now as an Assistant Manager, in a service that caters for 180 children. I work closely with our BoM, ensuring the day to day smooth running of the service. Unfortunately the childcare sector has been on a decline through the years, it is no longer a job I am proud of or happy to continue. In our governments eyes, paperwork and cleaning are unfortunately more important than the development of our children. The added pressures of COVID-19 has been the final straw for me, and for this reason I intend to leave the sector sooner rather than later. Of course it will have to be the right fit for both me, the child and your family. I hope this gives you some insight into what my values are as a person and in my career. I am highly qualified with a lot of experience in all ages and all levels of care.
